And Class Begins...

Its the second day of classes, and I have to say I am incredibly proud of myself, as I haven't been lost once. My days aren't to full at the moment, but I have received my first assesment. Now O Week is over, it feels a bit odd getting down and studying, as I'm so used to playing endless name games, touch footy, and walking into other dorms to make friends. My dorm is now full (we had 4 first years during O week) and everybody gets along great. I am still working on the cooking thing though...

Ive listed a quick summary of O Week and what I think makes it great fun:

  • Get involved! its going to be intimidating making new friends, so try and meet as many people as possible.

  • Dress up! thats the best part of Unibar, all the nights are themed, so you dont have to worry about what you look like at all.

  • Have fun! There are so many opportunities to get involved from games to mystery bus tours. Take every one that you can, coz O Week isn't forever.

I have included some pictures of people from my dorm and some of the fun we've been having. These pics are from Returners Night, when everyone else moves back into the dorms.

The end of O Week

Hey guys... well O-week is officially over. Majority of the first years in our dorm have headed home, so this weekend is going to be pretty quiet. Last night I managed to go to bed at 9pm (amazing effort) after a pretty busy day (not). I have succesfully cooked my first meal (which was pasta with pre-made sauce... i boiled it though!) and I did my first load of washing (but i'm not sure if I did it right.) I'm off also to do my first big shop with some of the people in my dorm. As promised I have supplied some photos from the last few nights at Unibar.. Disco night and Dag night. There will definately be a lot more to come :)

The Best Parties EVER

Even though O-Week has started to calm down a bit, the fun is nowhere near from over. Disco Night and Woodstock have been great nights at Unibar, but everybody is hanging out for DAG NIGHT!!! We have to dress up as the biggest dag possible, and the winner is being judged. I have my outfit all planned out (of course!) and i can't wait to dress up again :) Today we had Market Day, which provided us with tons of handy information, and also the Mystery Bus tour which was GREAT FUN!!! I highly recommend it, as its a fantastic way to get to know Bathurst and all the good places to eat, drink and shop. For this week we have been catered, but over the weekend we have to start cooking for ourselves which causes a problem for me, as my cooking is terrible! However, I have made some great dormie mates who are more than happy to help out. Thats what I think has been the best thing so far, everyone has become so close, thanks to our RA and the constant activity. I'm not heading back to Sydney this weekend, so it will be good fun just hanging in the dorms and getting ready to start studying first thing on Monday! I'll let you know how Dag Night goes, and also update you with some photos :D

O WEEK

Hey! So after packing everything up and shipping out of town, i've finally arrived on the Bathurst Campus. The packing got pretty hectic with everything I couldn't bring (i had to cull my shoe collection big time!) but I have finally finished unpacking (with the exception of some of the bags i've chucked into the cupboard). I'm currently living in Traditional Diggings, which is definately the best residence going round! I've been fed this week which has been lucky, because O-Week has been SO BUSY! Information is coming from everywhere... lecturers, RA's (residential assistants) and even my new friends. I have had an absolute blast already, and I know its only going to get better! Everything from name learning games to touch footy has been played, and its the second day! I am missing my family and friends a little and i'm sure to miss them more, but there is so much going on, its nearly impossible. Making new friends has definately been the best part so far, and especially meeting people in the older years, like our O-Week leaders and RA's. I can't wait to learn more, see more and especially have more fun! I will definately keep you posted as the rest unfolds ;)
